A course in any of the fields of Literature, Philosophy, Art, Music, or Sports.(UnderstandingArt):Aninvestigationintothenatureofthevisualartswithanemphasisontheissuesandideasthatartistsexplorethroughtheirworkandhowtheseideastranslateintotheartwork.Attentionwillbegiventotheinterpretationorreadingoftheartworkandhowitmayrelatetosociety.(UnderstandingMusic):Anintroductiontotheappreciationofmusic,itselementsandbasicformsofmusic,withparticularemphasisonthecomposer'screativeprocessandthelistener'sparticipation.Methodsofanalyticalandaestheticappreciationwillbeappliedtomusicalexamples,withcorollariesinliterature,history,theater,andthevisualarts.(IntroductiontoHumanities):Anintroductiontothehumanitiesthroughthestudyofsomeofthemajordevelopmentsinhumanculture,tryingtoanalyzetheassumptionsaboutthewaysocietiesareformedandhowtheyexpresstheirideasthroughart,literature,architecture,music,andphilosophy,developingconceptualtoolstounderstandculturalphenomena.
