Dr. Menna Tawfik has a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Cairo University, Faculty of Engineering, in 2010 and 2015, respectively. She received her Ph.D. in 2022 from Urban Design and Communities Development at Cairo University with the title of “ Re-configuring the socio-spatial structure in new communities towards social sustainability”. She previously worked as an instructor in the Architecture and Urban Design Program at the German university in Cairo for nine years. She taught at multiple international universities in Germany and Barcelona, as well as supervised students in different workshops there. She contributed to academic scientific research in high-impact journals and numerous conference proceedings. Her research interests are social sustainability, rebuilding communities for resilient and sustainable development, urban transformation, revitalization of open spaces, and retrofitting the urban sprawl in new communities.
