Introduction to Continuum Mechanics

The main goal of this course is to present a unified, mathematically rigorous approach to the two classical branches of mechanics problems: the mechanics of fluids and the mechanics of solids. Topics will include Introduction to tensor calculus, kinematics, the general balance equation, balance laws (mass, momentum, and energy), the entropy inequality, and an introduction to the constitutive theory.
