A tour of our NU campus was made by the School of Engineering & Applied Sciences which hosted Porsche for a visit. It was insightful meeting Mr. Ahmed Kassem, General Manager; Ms. Emil Beshara, HR Director; Mr. Michel Albert, Learning and OD Specialist; and Yomna Farhat, OD Director, and showing them around the FACT Center, Innovation HUB, NilePreneurs, and Micro Factory. Dr. Lobna A. Said’s research paper won second place for the best paper award at the 35th International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM) 2023, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The paper authors were Mohamed S. Ghoneim, Dalia A. Fathi, Lobna A. Said, Ahmed H. Madian, and Magdy A. Bayoumi, and is titled “Aloe Vera Tissue Modeling and Parameter Identification Using Meta-Heuristic Optimization Algorithm”.

The Architecture and Urban Design Program (ARUD) at NU had the pleasure to host Prof. Shahed Saleem who is the Founder of Makespace Architects, a Senior Research Fellow at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, and a Reader at the University of Westminster School of Architecture. His research and practice interests are in the architecture of migrant and post-migrant communities, and particularly their relationship to heritage, belonging, and nationhood.
