Advancing Sustainable Construction: Exploring Alternative Adhesives for Environmentally Friendly Building Materials

Research Project

Abstract

This project project focuses on the development of environmentally friendly and sustainable construction materials, with a specific emphasis on exploring alternative options for synthetic formaldehyde adhesives. By replacing conventional adhesives with eco-friendly alternatives, the project aims to mitigate the adverse environmental effects associated with construction activities. The mechanical properties of the resulting construction materials demonstrate promising characteristics, including higher tensile strength and Young's modulus values. Furthermore, an environmental impact assessment was conducted, encompassing various impact categories such as ecological footprint, greenhouse gas emissions, and ecosystem damage potential. This project underscores the importance of sustainable practices in the construction sector and highlights the potential of alternative adhesives for advancing environmentally conscious building materials.
